Special Education/ Peer Assistance Teacher
I am a 1994 Groesbeck High School Advanced with Honors graduate. I attended all 13 years of school in Groesbeck ISD. I was raised by my grandmother along with my 3 brothers, 4 first cousins, an aunt, and my uncle. Believe me, I know what having a big family means.
I love the growth and advances in education and technology our district has accomplished over the years. Each teacher and student has been equiped not only with Mac computers but the ongoing training and tools needed to be a leader in educating today's children. The possibilities are limitless.

I am currently working toward National Board Teacher Certification in Special Education (Special Needs Certified for Early Childhood through Young Adult.) I have over 225 hours of training and contact time in preparation. National Board Certification certifies a teacher to teach in all 50 states in the United States. It is one of many professional goals I have set for myself.
This year begins my 19th year with Groesbeck ISD. I enjoy teaching in Groesbeck and seeing some of my own teachers still teaching. My first position was Special Education Teacher at the High School, before transfering to the Juvenile Detention Center. It has been such a rewarding experience touching the lives of at-risk youths everyday. I have certainly lived by example. I’m blessed to back at the high school as Special Education Teacher/Case Manager & Peer Assistance I/II Teacher. This is my second year in this capacity.
I taught 2 years with Waco ISD previously working at the Cesar Chavez Alternative School. I worked as the High School English and Reading Teacher. I still stay in contact with my mentor teacher and former coworkers. They have helped to mold me into the teacher I have become. I will never forget them. I was a substitute teacher with Waco ISD 3 months before they hired me as a full-time teacher.
I am the proud mother of three. My oldest daughter will earn her Associates Degree in December. My son is a barber. My youngest daughter attends PreK this year and is growing and learning every day. I am enjoying being a granny as well. I know grandparents are for spoiling.
I have one dog. She acts like a human. I love to take a nap on Sunday afternoons and relax. I enjoy traveling. I love to read novels and am currrently writing a book. I also like to work in my flower beds. I enjoy cooking homemade meals and catching up with my college friends and family.
Teaching is my calling. I could not see myself doing anything else. My motto is Education begins when you are born and ends when you die. Every single day is another opportunity to learn and to grow both personally and professionally.
I am also a private tutor for many different subjects. Contact me, I would love to help you in any way that I can. I have been an adjunct faculty member teaching developmental English, Reading, and College Writing online with Kaplan University and Westwood College. I have taught online and at brick and mortar. I love working with adult learners just as much as K-12 learners. I have tutored in English, Math, Reading, College Writing, and Teacher Certification. I have been an SAT instructor with Kaplan in the Dallas area. The only thing I did not like was the commuting to the big city.
I am a big Baylor Bears fan, even when they were losing big time. I'm excited about the new McLane Stadium and look forward to the Lady Bears basketball as well. We have developed as a leading institution of higher education and Waco, TX is on the map to stay. Rise up, Baylor!
